This is a great DVD. It is a really good workout. It'll wear you out even if you've been working out for a while. The moves on the step are a bit complicated, but even a klutz like me can get the hang of it after a few sessions. The best thing about the DVD is that you can choose what portions of the workout you want to do. You can do cardio/strength circuit training, either with a step or step and stability ball. You can also choose to do cardio or strength only off of the menu (no messing around with the remote in the middle of your workout). You can also choose to do smaller sections depending on your available time or fitness goals (upper body, lower body, abs only, etc.). There is a bit of bouncing around in it, but Karen shows how to do the moves with less impact.

I like the various choices on the menu. When I'm short on time, I simply choose the strength training segments. YOu get the B.L.T. on a ball segments, cardio options, and strength options as well, which means you get virtually three types of workouts in one single DVD. I've purchased other workout DVDs and this one is reasonably priced compared to more expensive ones that I own. The music is motivating and not the usual cheap and corny-sounding electronically generated music. If you are new to step, you might try the lower impact moves preceding the higher impact ones that Karen does until you master the sequence.
