I found this DVD for 2.99 at a discount store. I didn't realize it was considered a "beginner" DVD. The dance aerobic section is very low-key, the music I thought, was awful. I used my step to keep my heartrate up while integrating her moves. The floor work was great for stretching and a beginner weight workout, but not pilates except for her telling you to "keep your core tight, stomach in" and balancing. For the price, it was okay, but I would not recommend it to someone who is a regular excerciser.

If you read the description, Kathy Smith uses the foundational basis of Pilates. This is NOT a Pilates workout - there is no attention to breathing, no 100s, Teasers, Roll Like a Ball, etc. The lower body workout has the most Pilates based movements. The cardio is typical Kathy Smith. There is plenty of reference to using your Core and keeping your abs sucked in.

I am glad I tried the workout before buying. I will look elsewhere for a Pilates workout.
