I personally enjoy this DVD. It does lack a warm-up and cool-down but you can always do that on your own. The segments in this DVD are a LOT better than her Personal Trainer DVD. The Personal Trainer has only 32 mins cardio whereas this DVD is close to 2 hours including the toning segments which is around 30-40 mins. A programmable DVD that lets you create your own custom workout. Just choose the segments you want and they'll play in the exact order you selected. Includes six 15-20 minute sections: low-impact aerobics, higher-impact kickboxing, cardio intervals, jump-rope intervals, upper-body toning and lower-body toning. To make designing your workout easy, Kathy starts with an easy-to-understand explanation of how to choose and sequence your personal workout (to match your fitness goals). This DVD is carefully re-edited using segments from Kathy's ''Aerobox,'' ''Peak Fat Burning.'' Lift Weights to Lose Weight,'' ''Kickboxing'' and ''Cardio Fat Burner'' videos.

I bought this video for two reasons. I bought it because it included so much: 4 workout sections and 2 weight lifting sections. But I only actually use 3 sections altogether. I just really hated the kickboxing section and the jumprope section. I did them once and never again! The other reason I bought it is because I saw that it included a portion of the Timesaver Cardio Fatburner video of hers. But only one of the sections is from that video and I liked the Timesaver much better overall. However, I still use this video sometimes when I only want to do a twenty minute workout. I have also complained about the lack of a cool down in this video-- that is usually the most fun part of a video!

I had bought the Personal Trainer DVD and liked the ability to mix up the routine for variety. SO I thought the Rules of Fat Burning would add to that variety. I have three critisms. First there is no warm up or cool down. Second, the cardio section is the same as the cardio section in the Person Trainer. Finally, the upper body workout is also the same as in the Personal Trainer. With all the vidoes Kathy Smith has made, I know there are numerous other combinations she could have put together. I would recommend skipping this DVD, wait to see what comes out in the future.
