Adapted from author Nick Schou's book Kill the Messenger: How the CIA's Crack-Cocaine Controversy Destroyed Journalist Gary Webb, director Michael Cuestra's fact-based drama stars two-time Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner as the reporter whose life came to an abrupt and particularly suspicious end after revealing the CIA's involvement with the importing of cocaine into the United States in the 1980s.
