From June 1950 through July 1953, the U.S. participated in the Korean War - which began when eight factions of the North Korean People's Army crossed the 38th Parallel and invaded South Korea. This, in turn, prompted the United Nations Security Council to declare the action as a breach of peace and ask U.N. member nations to go to war against North Korea. The documentary box set Korea offers a chronological history of the U.S.'s three-year struggle in the titular country, in three separate installments: Between a Hammer and an Anvil, The Drive North to the Yalu and Stalemate at the 38th Parallel. Each one employs a combination of veteran accounts, archival footage of live combat, and explanatory maps to tell its story.
