Beware. This film is about Los Angeles. If you don't find LA culture quirky, annoying or interesting you probably won't enjoy this movie, but if you can laugh at stereotypical LA life you will really enjoy this movie. Plenty to laugh about. Some poignant moments. Even though I didn't like the love interest of Steve very much I found myself tearing up at the end. Some classic scenes like the earthquake scene or the road rage scene. Who can forget the coffee orders or the embarassing situation at the hotel in Santa Barbara. Steve Martin plays a hapless comedic weatherman who is getting cheated on by his girlfriend.

You don't have to know much about L.A. to enjoy this film. Steve Martin is superb as a man looking for love and the meaning of life in a land of superficial people and quirky customs. A funny look at life, relationships and of course...L.A.

this film was so funny, and touching and poignant that it truely stands out in mr. martin's career. the spinning sarah j. parker was also a riot as was marilu henner and even the usually irritating victoria tenament. don't miss this diamond in the rough.
