I first watched Listen to Me as an impressionable teenager with a crush on Kirk Cameron. Even then I could see it had faults. It tends towards exaggeration and the acting can be slighty simplistic. I returned a few years ago to the movie with the aim of encouraging a group of South African teenagers to greater debating heights. They seemed to enjoy both the story and the improvement in their debating skills. As a teacher in England, I have used the movie again as a teaching aid and still find it appeals to teenagers as a 'wicked' story. This is a little gem of a movie that has appealed to teenagers across continemts and generations.

This movie is a timeless tale of love and war, through the eyes of a college debate team. This rollercoster ride of human emotions tells an epic tale of the struggles of debate vs. reality.
