If like me, you've been waiting for "Long Way Round" to be available in US format DVD, then wait no longer! I loved the series on Bravo & have waited for two years to buy the series in the US! Ewan McGregor and Charlie Booreman are a great team & show us parts of the world we most likely will never see or experience for ourselves. Don't miss this once in a lifetime motorcycle trip!

I am not big on reality shows at all but I am a Ewan McGregor fan and this series is amazing. You not only see the real Ewan in good times and bad, but the whole series is incredibly uplifting. It makes you want to get up and do something and most of all shows the viewers that there is a whole other world out there outside of the humdrum of our daily lives. I've watched this time and time again, never gets boring I still laugh and cry with them and each time I watch it I discover something I never caught before. We are introduced to Charley Boorman who is someone we, here in the states did not know of until this. These are two incredible men who went on an incredible journey. I was a Ewan McGregor fan before and even more now. These two men are amazing family men who seemed to rediscover what was most important in their lives. Their families. Don't forget the book which is equally enjoyable.

While we are intended to believe that the filming of this documentary was completely adlibbed, I had the sense that most of it was being directed. Whether it was or not, my family and I found this to be a very entertaining film. On another note, as an American, I found it insulting and very non-patriotic that these two actors, and their crew didn't find the United States worthy of their interest. They skipped from Montana to New York, without visiting each state in between. Every state has something about it that makes it unique. Our states are just as culturally diversified as other countries are. I realize that McGregor and Boorman had a goal to get to New York on a particular date. But, really, would they have died had they been a little later getting home? That was why I did not give this DVD an Outstanding rating. Overall, I would say that this is a must-see film. I applaud and thank McGregor and Boorman for choosing to share their adventure via DVD. I plan to buy it, and watch it frequently.

I absolutely loved this series. However, I was very disappointed in the DVD. The DVD set claims complete uncut series, however, the episodes have definitely been cut as scenes like the initial setup in their building before the trip, additional footage at Igor's house. etc. are missing.
