I'm 61 and a hopeless romantic. This movie is not only one of the best romances I've ever witnessed, but what makes it even better is that it is a CLEAN movie. When will hollywood ever get it that they don't need fowl language and sex scenes to create a masterpiece. I'm very fond of time travel movies and this is absolutely splendid.......right up there with Somewhere in Time and Anne of Green Gables!

My sons don't get it, but I never get tired of this movie. To have lived back in that time. The only thing that bothers me--I wish Campbell Scott's character would tell the truth sooner! But I still enjoy it,every time.

I am a normal red blooded male, 46 years old. I cry every time I watch this. It is the best movie the 1990's ever had!! YOU GOTTA GET IT !!!!! And better yet and amazing - There is no illicit sex and no bad language !!!!!!!!!!

Campbell Scott and Jennifer Jason Leigh shine in this tale of star-crossed/time-crossed love. Both actors have never before been as appealingly attractive and romantic in any of their previous films. Especially Leigh who usually plays excessively tormented souls. In this film she is a much more grounded and normal woman whose life is profoundly affected by Campbell Scott's character who becomes infatuated with her. The film is intriguing and suspenseful with a wonderful ending that is so good you want the film to continue much longer. There are definitely comparisons to be made with the Christopher Reeve/Jane Seymour film Somewhere in Time. However The Love Letter has more interesting plot twists especially involving the characters' alter-egos as well as a more satisfying ending.

The Love Letter is a time travel movie which was shown on tv a number of years ago along with Somewhere in time and a few other movies similar in the same week (or month). I am looking for the name of the other movie that took place on a train, with a antique pocket watch as the key to the past. The actor goes back in time to a village and saves the female actress from a gas explosion in the park. Does anyone know the name of the movie made for tv that I can track it down?? If so please email to aj630@hwcn.org Thank you LC
