Overview

German director Roland Emmerich filmed this conventional supernatural drama set in a small town in mid-America. Little Joey (Joshua Morrell) mourns the death of his father, and to compensate for his loss he "talks" to him on a red toy phone he has in his room. Joey has also been given the power of telekinesis, and he soon finds that since his emotions are as strong as any 11-year-old's, the ability to move objects around gets way out of hand. In fact, disaster looms on the horizon as even Joey's mother is threatened, and nothing seems able to bring the home and the boy back to normal.

I think this is Roland Emmerich's best movie next to 'Stargate' and 'Independence Day', this is such an underrated and little seen German movie that is now finally on DVD in 2-discs featuring the butchered badly dubbed U.S. version and the full length Uncut German version with scenes not shown in America. It's about a boy with telekinetic powers that communicates with his dead dad and must save everyone in his city from evil forces including a demonic ventriloquist dummy. Very entertaining and sometimes sad flick with a twist in the end, it's a wonderful movie and i love it but it's too scary for small children.
