Two years before his turn behind the camera on Braveheart netted him the Academy Award for Best Director, Mel Gibson made his directorial debut with and starred in The Man Without a Face. This inaugural DVD release of the film features a widescreen anamorphic transfer. Meanwhile, the original English soundtrack is available in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, as is the optional dubbed French track, and subtitles are available in English, Spanish, and French. The film, about the relationship between a young boy and a disfigured man, is supplemented by a featurette that offers the audience a behind-the-scenes look at the production. Additionally, the original theatrical trailer is included.
