I agree with other reviewers, this program is suitable maybe for the first trimester or post-natal exercises, too much emphasis is put on floor exercises and abdomen, the modifications that the instructore offers are minor. I am now in my third trimester and what I am really looking for is STRETCHING and hardly any exercises on that. If you are looking for a workout for your whole term, pass on this one. I personally didn't find the instructor that helpful or pleasant either. I wish I have read the reviews before getting the DVD.

This video is simply not very good. I was bored and didn't feel the workout as much as Denise Austins videos.

I wanted to lose weight for an event this upcoming August, so I ordered the Windsor Pilates. Two weeks into that program I found out I was pregnant and stopped until I spoke to my Doctor. He said I could continue doing Pilates & Yoga. I wanted to be safe so, I ordered this Pilates for Pregnancy. I found that many of the poses are the same as the Windsor (which was much more expensive) but it did not include the poses that I was concerned with (rolling back & forth like a ball on my back). This confrimed that I made the right decision in ordering a Pilates video that fits my needs. I will definitely order the Pilates After Pregnancy.

I was excited to receive this as a Christmas gift but unfortunately was very unhappy when I watched this for the first time. Although, it does have some good pilates exercises 90% of them are not suitable for pregnant women beyond their first trimester. Most of these exercises requires you to be flat on your back which is one of the things your doctor and most pregnancy books tell you to avoid after the 1st trimester. Don't buy it!

I thought this was the best ! I totally enjoyed this workout while pregnancy. I have done it 3 times a week since my first trimester and am now in my 3rd. I feel strong, fit and ready to have a easier labor. And yes as long as your comfortable you can be on your back! She also provides modifications if you are uncomfortable. I love this dvd and have recommended it to my friends.

I agree with the last review. This video is horrible. I am almost 7 months pregnant and just receieved this video as a gift. It is awful. I can't do any of the exercises and was so surprised to see that most of them take place on your back, which I have been discouraged to do since pregnant. The instructor is not pregnant like the cover of the video shows and she is not in the greatest shape either. I would not recommend this video to anyone!!!

I had been unable to excerise for about 3 months prior to pregnancy due to pneumonia and pleurisy and then again during the early weeks (I am now 14.5 weeks) due to extreme morning sickness. As a fan of Pilates prior to pregnancy and illness, I specifically asked my doctor about doing a mat class or video during pregnancy. He gave me the all clear for being on my back, and I tried this DVD. I must say I was sketipical that this tape was going to give me any conditioning, as it seems fairly tame- the next day, my poor rear was sore sore sore (in a good way). My sciatica had also improved immediately after the tape, and like a Pilates class, I was left feeling energized and taller. I will continue to use this tape and walking to get me through the remaining weeks.

This video should be relabeled as Postnatal Pilates. This is definitely not suited for pregnant women and the floor exercises are not a good idea for a pregnant woman. I absolutely hated it.

I wished I'd read some of the reviews prior to buying this tape. I bought it to supplement my other exercise, but after working half way through the routine, I decided to stop. First, the majority of exercises are on your back -- a no no during pregnancy particularly after the first trimester. There were a lot of crunches and strain on the stomach. It's as if she does everything that OB's tell you not to. Very strange. I do not feel that this tape is safe. I lift light weights and cycle 3 times a week and never have I felt like I've put myself or baby in danger. This tape made me feel that I was doing something wrong. Plus, I found Melinda to be very boring.

Melinda gets into several positions which are uncomfortable and, according to my OB/GYN, dangerous. I recommend Karyne Steben's video 'The Perfect Pregnancy Workout' instead. Both were reviewed in Fit Pregnancy at the same time and I got both, but found Karyne's to be safe AND a great workout. I'd advise you to pass on Melinda's.

I didn't like this video at all. All her exercises were floor bound and didn't make you feel you were doing anything to remain in shape for after the baby which is what i was looking for. I recommend Denise Austin's Pregnancy Plus workout tape. You'll feel like you have accomplished something. You'll feel great. I should have listened to other peoples ratings and didn't. Don't you do the same.

I'm 5months pregnant and I couldn't use this tape at all. My doctor indicated that's it completely wrong to be lying flat on your back to do any kind of exercise. And crunches are definitly out of the question. What I didn't appreciate more, is that I can't return the video just because I opened it to find out that it's not suitable for pregnant women as the title suggests. So instead I'm out $30.

A must have video. Really informative and extensive in its workout. I have bought 4 more copies to give as gifts to friends. Enjoy.

I love it! It is a cutting edge pregnancy workout program. It is easy to follow and I see the results. I have completed my pregnancy and delivered a beautiful 7lb, 7oz baby boy and continue to use the video 2 to 3 times a week. I gained about 49lbs during the pregnancy and in just 11 weeks I have lost 41lbs. My only question is, when is Melinda's next video coming?

One word describes this video. Excellent!!! I am a mother of 3 and soon to be 4. I am sick and tired of all those that think you are sick when you're pregnant, and you shouldn't exercise. In all of my pregnancies I have always worked out. I too waited by the mailbox for this video to arrive and I am extremely happy with it. My doctor reviewed the tape and was impressed. I am in my second trimester now, and I have been following Melinda's program 2 - 3 times a week since I got it. I can honestly say that I do not remember feeling as great as I do now in any of my last 3 pregnancies. The program is safe, effective and easy to follow. I think the proof is in the pudding. I am much more mobile this pregnancy than I have ever been. I am also much older this time as compared to my age during my first pregnancy. I attribute my strength and control in this pregnancy to this video, and I will be purchasing Melinda's ''Pilates After Pregnancy'' video, which I understand will be available soon. I read a review that said, ''thou shalt not exercise lying on one's back while pregnant.'' Well, I rested, slept, and have done exercise on my back during all of my pregnancies. My doctor said most women lie on their back while pregnant without any problems. For the record, at no time in this video, are you lying on your back without moving. I have done Pilates for some time and can see that Melinda has modified most of the exercises so that they are safe for pregnant women. She has you always moving and never on you're back for a long time. I rate this video a solid 10 and recommend it. I am glad to see that someone finally broke through the all of the hype about lying on your back. Thank you Melinda I am forever grateful.

I bought this video so that I could keep up with an exercise program during my fourth pregnancy. It proved to be the perfect program, I had the best pregnancy, labor and delivery, even better than the first three! It was easy to follow and had great instruction with ''picture in picture'' modifications. I did the program through my first and second trimester, then picked it back up again after I had the baby. I was concerned about some of the exercises because they were done on your back. I asked my doctor to review and approve it, which he did. He said that the exercises in the vidoe which were done on your back were fine because you kept moving and I was never uncomfortable. I highly recommend it!
