I bought this without ever seeing an episode, simply because Actor Lance Henriksen had the starring role. After watching a few episodes, I was hooked! This series is akin to "Silence Of The Lambs", and "The Profiler". The plots keep you on the edge of your chair, and never disappoint. I bought season 2 a day after seeing the first episode! Lance Henriksen brings a lot of believability to the series due to his excellent acting ability. I recommend it to all who loved "Profiler" and The CSI series.

Season one is by far may favorite of the series. If you've never seen an episode, snag it...its worth it. While it is very dark, the whole idea for the show is great. A profiler who can get so deep into the minds of killers, he sees what they see. My only disappointment is that the next 2 seasons didn't follow the same style as season one.

Chris Carter's 'MILLENNIUM' premiered in late October 1996, just before Halloween. It was immediately touted 'the darkest show on TV', though back then it wasn't saying much. With THE X-FILES into its fourth season (the darkest of that show's history), Carter decided to put his talents for dark television to good use and went for a new, freaky idea. Frank Black (Lance Henriksen) is an ex-FBI agent who moves back to his home of Seattle to start a new life for wife Catherine (Megan Gallagher) and daughter Jordan (Brittany Tiplady). Once there, he's consulting for the Millennium Group, a mysterious law enforcement consulting firm that is represented by the enigmatic Peter Watts (Terry O'Quinn). The range of episodes and writers is rather remarkable. In the 'Pilot' episode, Frank is consulting on a mysterious series of deaths relating to a strange man obsessed with French apocalyptic poetry and the prophecies of Nostradamus. A brilliant start to a great series. The quality varies with the next several episodes: 'Gehenna', in which a death cult is killing its own members who've lost faith. 'Dead Letters' concerns a 'faceless' killer who murders and mutilates women (the way he feels). 'The Judge' was a brilliant tale of a new age vigilante who hires ex-convicts to carry out his judgement of who he perceives to be criminals. '522666' was about a mad bomber who gets a sexual charge from his deeds, terrorizing D.C. 'Kingdom Come' is the story of a religious killer retracing the loss of faith that results in the deaths of clergymen. 'Blood Relatives' told the story of a young man who attends funerals, searching for love and family in the bereaved. When the bereaved turn up dead, he's seen as guilty. The season's finest hour (certainly has its moments) may come in 'The Well-Worn Lock', a tale of a young woman who has been molested for 23 years by her father (a pillar in the community). I was genuinely scared in 1997 when the episode 'Wide Open' first aired, telling of a man who goes to open houses and kills the owners, hiding in the closets. He leaves a young, traumatized witness in his wake. Frightening thought, scarily produced. 'The Wild and the Innocent' is the most watchable story in a way, despite the disturbing and dark story of 'BONNIE & CLYDE' esque revenge on a terrible stepfather. 'Weeds' tells the story of a gated community and the sins of the fathers being revisited on the sons. 'Loin Like a Hunting Flame' was about a sexually frustrated man stalking various people and couples in Colorado. 'Force Majeure' put the apocalyptic focus on the series with Brad Dourif as a kooky wannabe Millennium Group member who warns of the cataclysmic event on May 5, 2000 that a group of dead girls and their family have been preparing for. 'The Thin White Line' was a 'SILENCE OF THE LAMBS' esque tale, which took us into Frank's past to see a disturbed man who has a copycat killer in the being of his former cellmate. 'Sacrament' is the story in which Frank's sister in law gets kidnapped by a sexual sadist. 'Covenant' was a LAW & ORDER style story of a man who apparently kills his wife and family, but who wants to die for it. Frank goes to prove that he didn't do it, to his frustration. 'Walkabout' was a story in which Frank disappears and turns up with cuts and bruises, having participated in a drug trial. The show's first two parter (one of the best) is 'Lamentation' and 'Powers, Principalities, Thrones and Dominions', in which Frank must help first find the escaped convict (a Hannibal Lecter clone) who somehow got away from a hospital bed and killed a security guard. Or did he? The mysterious Lucy Butler's involved, and so is a lawyer named Aleister Pepper (in the second episode), who defends the man who claims to have killed Frank's partner Bob Bletcher. 'Broken World' was a disturbing but thoughtful story of a man killing horses for sexual pleasure, in an escalating pattern of psychosexual k
