Joseph Sargent's historical drama Miss Evers' Boys comes to DVD with a standard full-frame transfer that preserves the original broadcast aspect ratio of 1.33:1. A closed-captioned English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Surround, a French soundtrack has been recorded in Dolby Digital Stereo, and a Spanish soundtrack is available in Dolby Digital Mono. Subtitles are accessible in all three of those languages as well. Supplemental materials include biographies of the cast and director. This is a fine release from HBO/Rysher.

I heard about the Tuskegee Experiment, but never read in depth about it. I decided to get the movie and read a book about it later. I'm SO GLAD I purchased this movie. It was heart wrenching to see how the gov't took advantage of the poor blacks in the south and used an intelligent highly qualified doctor to conduct this experiment. I was in awe that the gov't knew they had no intention to treat these men. Alfre Woodard did a fantastic job. The burden her character had to carry all those years was incomprehensable. This is a good movie to introduce to youngsters when speaking of the history of African Americans.
