Monsters, Inc.

After exploring the worlds of toys and bugs in the two Toy Story films and A Bug's Life, the award-winning computer animation company Pixar delves into the realm of monsters with its fourth feature. Hulking, blue-furred behemoth James P. "Sully" Sullivan (John Goodman) and his one-eyed assistant Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) are employed by Monsters, Inc., a scream processing factory. It seems that the denizens of their realm thrive on the screams of kids spooked by monsters lurking under their beds and in their closets. It's the job of Sully, Mike, and their co-workers, including sarcastic Randall Boggs (Steve Buscemi), crab-like CEO Henry J. Waternoose (James Coburn), and lovely snake-headed receptionist Celia (Jennifer Tilly) to keep the frights flowing. When Sully and Mike are followed back into the monster world by a very unafraid little human girl named Boo (Mary Gibbs), they are exiled to her universe, where they discover that such a modern-day mythological specimen as the Abominable Snowman is a fellow refugee.

When I first went out to see this movie, I could hardly wait for it to come out. When we got it, we watched it nonstop. I watch it when I come home from school, and every Friday and Saturday night. Sulley, Mike, Randall and cast rock!

No other movies can make my heart warmed than gMonsters, Inc.h This movie is made by Disney Company. Disney movies are always fantastic, but I thunk it is one of the most fantasic movies. When I saw a monster who is the hero of this movie save a human child from bad monsters, I felt the bonds of friendship. I was moved by this scene. However, I wasn't moved keenly, but brightly. This is because this movie is comedic. The fantasy and the imrpession were mixed and my heart was warmed by this mix.

The movie is based on Monsters from the closets that make a living in making children scream for energy in their own city. Yet, even though they scare kids, they are also afraid of the children themselves, making their job very difficult. This movie is one of the greatest Disney movies around and is a must see; it has won many awards for creativity and graphics. If you are a Disney fan and enjoyed movies like ''The Toy Story'' or ''Shrek'', then you will fall in love with this one. It is very funny, and is good for anyone at any age.

Without question, this is the finest animated film in my considerable collection. Indeed, I would watch this in preference to most of Hollywood's dire output. I have read dozens of reviews of this film, some questioning the characters' motives etc. but for me this is a masterpiece. I have seen and own all of the titles often mentioned in the same breath such as as Finding Nemo, Ice Age, A Shark's Tale, A Bug's Life, Happy Feet, Toy Story etc. but for me, none have that ineffable beauty of dialogue and action as Monsters Inc. Others, such as Ice Age (first one) and Finding Nemo are very, very good but none can touch the sublime, Monsters Inc. I am particularly fond of the soundtrack, which, in places, especially Sully and Mike's walk to work, is very Wagnerian and utterly beautiful.

This is such a cute movie. My little brother, who is 2, watches this movie at least once a day, and I have to say that I can't get sick of it! It's so cute, and not scary at all. Perfect for any child. You can count on a true Disney storyline...emotional yet funny and with a happy ending. I didn't see that with Shrek. There's an actual tenderness in this movie that I think was replaced by just crude humor in Shrek. You will absolutely love this movie and want to watch it again and again! Also, the special features disc is very cool.

Seriously, Pixar is the best movie studio on the PLANET. They make really great, creative movies. Whoever works at the studio are totally genius! Monsters, Inc. was so good and funny!! When I went to go see it in theaters, I didn't expect it to be so good... boy, was I wrong! This DVD is very good too... they probably put EVERYTHING you've ever wanted to know about the movie Monsters, Inc. They have trailers, tv spots, behind-the-scenes, art galleries, "If I Didn't Have You" music video, etc. It's a very fun movie, and the DVD is good too. I recommend it to every Pixar fan! :-)

2001 brought two great animated movies, first came Shrek, and Monsters Inc. John Goodman also had a voice in the Emperor's New Groove (2000) and once again gives himself away. As the movie opens, Monsters Inc's top scarer James P. Sullivan (John Goodman) is getting ready for work and lives with his assistant Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal). Mike's girlfriend Celia's (Jennier Tilly of Liar Liar and Stuart Little) birthday and is going to take out to dinner after work. Monsters Inc is in the city of Monstropolis. And the owner (James Coburn) doesn't want Monsters Inc to close. And Sullivan's rival (Steve Buscemi) wants to be #1. But first he will have to collect more screams than Sullivan. Mike is a walking talking eye-ball. And Sullivan is a giant monster, which may be why he is one of the company's scarers. Buy this with Shrek, if you haven't bought either movie yet.

I saw this movie with my sister-in-law and we both loved it!! The animation is spectacular and it is so funny as well as heartwarming. I just fell in love with the little girl Boo. As soon as it came out on video I knew I had to have it for my collection. I told my husband I was buying it for our 20 mos old son but I know I will be getting alot of enjoyment out of it as well!! The added features and outtakes are hilarious!! I would recommend this movie to everyone!!

I saw this and laughed so much. My eldest child was just beginning to talk and Boo! sounded so much like her. I am not sure if we were supposed to understand Boo! but I was pretty sure I could. I got my child the story book with sounds and she loves it! I cannot wait to see what she thinks of the movie.

This animated tale about two "monsters" becoming protective and loving toward a little girl who is supposed to be terrified of them is a sheer delight. I remember its theatrical release, shortly after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and thinking: We all need a life-affirming movie like this, especially now. The charm has not worn off - and never will. If you get to Disney World, you've got to visit the comedy club based on this movie.
