Fey and striking visuals. I guess I was expecting a gigantic firefight---like in CRANFORD (just kidding) and RETURN TO CRANFORD (just kidding). It may be the surprising fatalistic approach (no TREMORS mancave firefight or... sweet little old ladies with assault weapons?,,,) that shifts it into surrealistic territory. OR is it an allegory on "Illegal Aliens," (ALIENS) with a humongus Arizona border fence? Kind of a nightmare along the lines of the old KRONOS in Mexico? It's either fun or masochistic to let it wash over you, making you wonder if you would fall in love during a horrible invasion. It must be wonderful to find a well-lit full-service station still open.
