Nine Inch Nails: And All that Could Have Been

Fans will be thrilled with the release of a two-disc Nine Inch Nails: And All That Could Have Been set. The video image is presented in 1.33:1 full frame and appears very sharp and clear. No defects (including grain, dirt, or edge enhancement) are present during the feature's run time, and black levels and colors all appear to be very clear and even. The soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround and offers an excellent use of directional effects and aggressive Surround sounds. With hiss and distortion completely absent, this 5.1 mix should please anyone in possession of a Surround sound home theater. No alternate subtitles are available on this disc. The extras are fairly thin -- starting off the disc is an audio commentary by video artist Bill Viola which should give fans some extra added insight into the making of the feature. Also included on this set is a still gallery with over 300 images and a multi-angle feature which allows fans to flip from one view to another.

This DVD is an excellent reminder of why Nine Inch Nails has been so groundbreaking. This is worth every cent of the price! If you've ever been to a NIN show, this will put you right back there, especially if you saw Trent on the tour for the Fragile. Watching it onscreen, you will be able to see alot of the cool lighting or stage effects that you may not have been able to see at the show. If you have never been to a Nails show....YOU MUST HAVE THIS! It's not quite the same as being there...but it's damn close. Especially if you have surround sound. There are also hidden tracks on the DVD that includes a performance with Marilyn Manson at Madison Square Garden. I won't go into how to find those here, but if you buy this, check out any of the NIN newsgroups or websites and you should be able to find the secret codes to get to them there. The only reason I gave this 4 instead of 5 stars is because there was no backstage stuff and no interviews. Still, an incredible dvd!
