Overview

On Her Majesty's Secret Service

On Her Majesty's Secret Service suffers slightly on DVD from its forgotten status. The 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen digital master is not as well-restored as some of the other films, resulting in occasional spots on the print and a few minor mastering errors. While Thunderball received a new stereo track, On Her Majesty's Secret Service is left with lackluster mono. Luckily, what the disc lacks in sound and picture quality, it makes up for in supplemental material. The commentary track is once again edited together from various interviews with the cast and crew, although director Peter Hunt's comments appear to be screen-specific through most of the film. The documentary Inside "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" is also one of the better featurettes in the series, due to both the frank discussion of George Lazenby's brief flirtation with the role and the high level of quality that went into the film's production. A second featurette, "Inside Q's Laboratory," is a loving tribute to Desmond Llewelyn and the gadgets featured throughout the series. A 1969 documentary about the film's incredible ski photography, a still gallery, TV ads, radio spots, and a trailer are also included. A largely forgotten but essential Bond film, On Her Majesty's Secret Service offers enough to deserve a second chance from both fans and casual viewers on DVD.

IT'S A SHAME THAT GEORGE LAZEBY POTRAYED JAMES BOND FOR ONLY ONE FILM , BECAUSE IF YOU ASK ME I FEEL HE GAVE THE MOST PHYSICAL AND CERTAINLY THE MOST EMOTIONAL PORTRAYAL OF ANY ACTOR TO HAVE PORTRAYED JAMES BOND. THE PIZ GLORIA SEQUENCES WERE EXCELLENT AS WELL IS THE TITLE SONG SUNG BY LOUIS ARMSTRONG.

A bond movie with mix, drama, romance, of course Bond type spy-flick. Out side of the Connery Bonds, my favorite --

Next to Goldfinger, this is my favorite Bond movie. And next to Connery, George Lazenby is my favorite Bond. Cool and dapper, and man enough to be vulnerable and to fall in love. The scenes in the Swiss Alps are breathtaking, and Diana Rigg is divine. I surely couldn't blame Bond for falling in love with her.

''On her majesty's secret service'' is an extraordinary and exciting journey in one of the missions of agent 007. Although I am 14, I love classic movies and hope one day when I have money own this great film. I guarantee a life- shocking and romantic movie. Great actors, excellent storytelling. On Her Majesty's Secret Service was very poor. Blofeld was good, Moneypenny was nice, so was M, Q was wonderful. But what about Bond, James Bond? 007 wasn't there. George Lazenby's potrayel was very, very, dry. Tracy Bond wasn't meant to be a Bond girl! DON'T SEE THIS MOVIE!! You'll be doing yourself a FAVOR!!!!!
