An all-star cast, including Cillian Murphy (The Dark Knight, Inception), Helen McCrory (Skyfall, Harry Potter films), and Paul Anderson (Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows), head up this gangster family epic set in 1919 Birmingham. My favorite crime series of recent years, by far. Cillian Murphy makes a fine antihero as the head of an Irish crime family in England during the early 20th century. The title comes from the gang's practice of carrying razor blades in the brims of their hats ("peaky") with which to cut or literally blind opponents. While Murphy plays the engine of this ambitious clan, its beating heart is Helen McCrory, a matriarch who suffers neither fools nor outsiders gladly. Pity poor the poor inspector played by Sam Neil as he plots to infiltrate and overthrow this bunch: he doesn't know what he's in for. Neither does England.

I saw the first series on Netflix, had never even heard of it and watched it cause I love British tv. Absolutely one of the best shows I have ever seen in my life Cillian Murphy is outstanding in this series, have ever seen a performance like this from him before. I have the first two series and am now ordering the third. I just hope they continue with the program, I am so hooked I don't know what I'll do without it.

I hadn't heard much about this one, except that Cillian Murphy is in it. While the show is well shot and really well made, there's moments where it has a really slow pace. Not that's a bad thing but still. Otherwise, the show gets better as the episodes goes along and you get used to the characters. The soundtrack, I wasn't sure I was going to like, but you get used to it, the more you watch the show.
