Overview

Pet Sematary

Based on Stephen King's novel (and scripted by King), Pet Sematary is a haunting tale of obsessive love and the chilling aftermath it can create. Director Mary Lambert (who also helmed the lesser sequel Pet Sematary 2) provides terrifying atmosphere while keeping King's story and characters rich in texture. Pet Sematary features a nicely done 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer as well as a Dolby Digital 5.1 mix (English and French). Picture quality looks excellent, with the Dolby Digital 5.1 track performing well above average. Though Pet Sematary scores high on video/audio, it ranks very low on features. No extra material is included, not even a theatrical trailer, which is usually provided on Paramount DVDs. A commentary track by King or director Lambert would have provided a nice companion piece, or even just a few interviews with cast and crew. For now consumers will have to live with a bare-bones edition and hope for a Pet Sematary special edition somewhere down the road.

I was surprised after watching this movie becasue it was actually scary. I'm not used to saying that older horror movies are actually scary but this one is. I was very impressed by this. It had several very scary parts and it was very gory.

Im a huge Stephen King maniac, but i did not like the book. The ending was great but the rest was boring. But in the movie, it was awesome the whole way through.

The movie seriously scared me ********. The sister, she scared me so bad that everytime I'm alone, I see her in a bed or in the corner, hunched over like that, its scary!

After I watched this movie, it scared me that my name just happened to be RACHEL, and one of my best friends is named GAIGE. If you have seen this movie, then you know what I mean. I watched this movie one day with some of my friends, one of which was Gaige, and it scared us so much we're still talking about it. I don't know about you, but for me, it's kind of freaky watching some creepy dead girl screaming your name, and running at you through the tv. I think the moral of this movie should be watch your kid, and let the dead stay dead.

Based on the greatest novel by Steven king's Pet Sematary, this movie is one of my favorite movie. It's a real horror movie, not so much nasty type movie but can scare you a lot. You can call this "The real well written horror movie" not only by the visual effects but for it's dramatical script also.

A good adaptation of an excellent book. Lewis's character leaves something to be desired. Love the interpretation of Jud.

In this stephen king film (based on his novel) we get king's idea of ''Night of the Living Dead''. As Louis Creed and his family move to a small Maine town, their friend from across the street tells them of a cemetary for pets in the woods behind their house. But when Louis's child's cat is killed by a truck their friend (Jud Crandle) tells him more. Behind the pet cemetary, deep in the Maine wilderness is another cemetary, an indian burial ground. After burrying the cat there, it returns, alive and mean. So the place brings things back to life. And when Louis's baby son is killed by the same truck, guess what happens. The movie overall falls on gore to keep it going, and the star fails to do a good job with his acting. But the actor playing Jud Crandle does good, as do the children in the movie. But it fails to live up to the novel it was based on. Good for King or horror fans.
