The movie Prayers for Bobby has a great inspirational message for any family. It really goes into detail about instances of bullying between a mother and her gay son. It is a sad story that really happened and the movie does a good job portraying what really happened. It is an inspiring story that has touched many people's souls. Mary Griffith is the mother of a son who is gay. She came from a strong Christian family in which homosexuality was wrong and goes against all beliefs in the bible. She pushes the bible on her son and slowly pushes him away from the rest of his family. Bobby Griffith's family isn't accepting of his "sin," and it shows how much he was affected based on a real-life story. He later commits suicide by jumping of an overpass into traffic. Mary Griffith later questions her faith and becomes a leader for the Gay Rights Activist Movement. This movie is based on something that really happened. The message is a strong one that is showing people that being gay is not necessarily a choice. It just happens. God did not make mistakes when he created humans and homosexuals are not mistakes either. They are also normal human beings. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone and really look deep into what the movie is portraying.
