Preacher's Kid

Seeking to experience life on her own terms after growing up a preacher's daughter, twentysomething Angie King joins a traveling gospel show in this contemporary retelling of "The Prodigal Son." When Angie discovers just how difficult life on the road can be, she hesitates to return home with nothing to show for herself, and for fear that her father doesn't love her anymore.

This DVD is appropriate for ages 16 to 23 years of age due to some of the content. "Preacher's Kid" is a coming of age drama that includes some sexual content (it is not graphic, it is implied); some drug content (the smoking implied that it is marijuana); and there is dating violence and abuse. LeToya Luckett is our central character and she would like to "see" the world and find out what more there is to life than just what is happening inside the church. Her story is best used to encourage older teenagers and young adult Christians to avoid leaving behind their Christian values, being aware of compromise, and guarding their spirit (inner person) against "worldly" pressures. An excellent DVD for a youth discussion group or youth ministry.
