Overview

Princess Blade

Based on a manga series, this science fiction-adventure is set in a near future in which Japan is governed by a monarchy who use a highly trained band of samurai-style assassins known as the House of Takemikazuchi to suppress a fierce band of rebels. Yuki (Yumiko Shaku), a lethal young female member of the group, discovers that her mother was betrayed and murdered by the their leader, and swears vengeance. After being wounded in battle, she takes refuge in a remote gas station run by Takashi (Hideaki Ito), a young man who is actually a member of the underground rebel army. Despite their mutual mistrust, he nurses her back to health and they form a bond as she seeks to continue her mission of vengeance and he tries to convince her otherwise. ~ Tom Vick

THE MOST DEPRESSING ENDING I HAVE EVER SEEN! The Action Rocks But It totally colapses at the end, BAD

Princess Blade is now one of my favorite samurai movies. I appreciated the content for my part. It depends on what you look for in a film. The story, blade splicing action, women with samurai swords, direction and choreography was good enough for me to enjoy. If you like the typical, boring, sugar-coated Hollywood ending..then this movie is NOT for you!! If you can appreciate a "sci-fi" film with an different ending, grab the dvd! I was satisfied with it and i do recommend this film for fans of this genre.

Well paced action and a clear story line make this a rare treat. The beautiful Yumiko Shaku only adds to the mix!

The Princess Blade was one of the first Asian action films I saw. I loved it! The direction was cool, and Yumiko Shaku was pretty incredible in her first movie performance ever. Add fight sequences choreographed by Donnie Yen and you have a fun film. Girls with swords = Kick butt! -mags

Spectacular fight scenes!! The story was very interesting and not your traditional sappy happy ending. Very good film. (Not for the faint of heart)
