Overview

The second season kicks off with the eight inmates-turned-fugitives facing their first morning outside the walls of the Fox River State Penitentiary. Led by Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), the mastermind behind the breakout, the escapees endeavor to stay ahead of the manhunt spearheaded by FBI Agent Alexander Mahone (William Fichtner). He begins his pursuit with a press conference to seek the public's help before taking a closer look at Michael's tattoos, which hold clues about his post-escape plans. Dr. Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies), Michael's love interest and abettor, overdoses but survives, only to become a pawn in the political conspiracy as she tries to reunite with Michael. Disgraced prison guard Brad Bellick (Wade Williams) loses his job and joins the hunt for the Fox River 8 as a bounty hunter. While Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) sticks close to his brother Michael, some of the ex-prisoners pursue their own agendas: John Abruzzi (Peter Stormare) wants to settle an old score; Fernando Sucre (Amaury Nolasco) tries to halt the wedding of his beloved Maricruz (Camille Guaty); and Benjamin Miles "C-Note" Franklin (Rockmond Dunbar) and villainous Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell (Robert Knepper) each try to reunite with their families. However, the paths of six of the wanted men converge in Utah, where they try to recover the loot stashed by the legendary hijacker D.B. Cooper. Unfortunately for the fugitives, a shadowy government agent has ordered Agent Mahone to track down and kill the Fox River 8, and Mahone appears to be Michael's intellectual equal.

Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Christina Urban
Season 2 (2006-7) of Prison Break opens moments after Season 1 ended, with the escape of the "Fox River Eight" from the Fox River State Penitentiary: Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) and his brother Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell); Fernando Sucre (Amaury Nolasco); T-Bag (Robert Knepper); Abruzzi (Peter Stormare); C-Note (Rockmond Dunbar); Tweener (Lane Garrison); and Haywire (Silas Weir Mitchell). While Tweener and Haywire are forced to make it on their own, the rest set out together (reluctantly) in search of the $5 million dollars Westmoreland (Muse Watson) claimed to have buried in the American southwest. Hot on the fugitives' trail is Alexander Mahone (the fantastic William Fichtner), an FBI agent whose tenacity borders on obsession, and Secret Service agent Paul Kellerman (Paul Adelstein), who has his own agenda when it comes to the escapees. Meanwhile, Dr. Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies) goes on the lam when she realizes the conspiracy that placed Lincoln in prison is much more far-reaching than she imagined. As the season progresses and more twists and turns are revealed, the series bogs down a bit with convoluted scenes that go beyond suspension of belief. But stick with it -- Prison Break redeems itself with some fantastic episodes toward the end of the season, especially "Sweet Caroline" and the intense season finale, "Sona." Bonus features include audio commentaries, featurettes, and interviews.

My brother had the Prison Break seasons on dvd and once I started watching I couldn't stop!! One dvd after the other, one season after the other for two days straight!!! It was kinda disappointing to get caught up and have to wait for Monday nights!!! The characters are full of cool, calm and collected intelligence, you can't help but yell at the screen when something unexpected happens to foil their plans!! A great adult series to watch!!

My husband and I are half-way through watching Season 2 of 'Prison Break'. We are seriously addicted to this series. Our 20 year old daughter gave us Season 1 to watch. We had not heard of 'Prison Break' and really didn't expect to like it. Boy, were we surprised! We can't stop watching it. If we didn't need to eat or sleep or work........we'd simply sit and watch all episodes, one after the other until we got all the way through Season 3! My heart is pounding during nearly every second of every episode. It is a brilliant series. Brilliant acting. Brilliant writing. We have been die hard fans of 'Lost', but it can't hold a candle to 'Prison Break'.
