Jim Profit deserves to take his place with Al Swearengen, Francis Urquhart, and Twin Peaks' BOB as one of the premier villains ever created for television. Jim Profit, played by Adrian Pasdar of Near Dark and Heroes, is a charismatic sociopath working his way up the corporate hierarchy using any means at his disposal, including blackmail and murder. The genius of the show is that is shares its main character's world-view. It never judges anyone no matter how horrible their actions may be, and seemingly punishes the righteous and rewards the wicked with the impartiality of some cold and distant god. Simply a great show. As a bit of a post-script, if you enjoyed David Greenwalt's work on Angel, give this show a try, the whole series has a very Wolfram & Hart feel.
