Barnes & Noble - Christina Urban
A decade after proving herself a capable screen presence in the cult film favorite Tremors, country music star Reba McEntire leaped into the TV sitcom world with Reba, a feel-good show about a slightly dysfunctional family. McEntire stars as Reba Hart, a Texas mom in the midst of a divorce from her dentist husband, Brock (Christopher Rich), who has been cheating on Reba with his now-pregnant hygienist, Barbra Jean (Melissa Peterman). Reba finds this out in the pilot, along with the news that her 17-year-old daughter, Cheyenne (JoAnna Garcia), is pregnant by her boyfriend, dimwitted jock Van (Steve Howey). Reba's other TV kids -- 12-year-old Kyra (Scarlett Pomers) and 9-year-old Jake (Mitch Holleman) -- are thrown into the chaos, all of which Reba handles with varying degrees of success. McEntire quickly proved herself a formidable comedian with sharp timing. Costar Peterman often steals the show as the redneck floozy Barbra Jean, the loud, brassy foil to the down-to-earth McEntire. Other notable episodes in this three-disc collection include "The Steaks Are High," wherein the high school football team decide they are going to lose when Reba serves them the wrong kind of potato salad; "The Man and the Moon," in which Cheyenne finds a picture of her butt posted on the Web; and "Every Picture Tells a Story," built around Reba’s discovery of an old photo that suggests Brock’s cheating had begun earlier in their marriage. Other Season 1 highlights include "Labor of Love," where Brock misses his new baby’s birth when Reba takes him on a camping trip, and the season-closing "It Ain't Over Till the Redhead Sings," featuring Cheyenne going into labor at her high school graduation ceremony. Three of the 22 episodes on the set offer commentaries, and there are also deleted scenes, outtakes, bloopers, a featurette, and an interview with McEntire and Peterman about their characters.

"Reba" is a true to life series that people can relate to in their own lives in one way or another. She is a wonderful actress. I am surprised shed hasn't ventured into a TV series before this one. I hope her show will continue for years.

Even though the popular Reba show has been cancelled for almost a year it still remains on television stealing Hearts! The First season is a wonderful family comedy along with the rest of the series! One of the best show I've ever seen with many wonderful actors!! The first season captured my Heart through the pilot and will do the same to anyone else!
