You can't go wrong with Granada TV's Sherlock Holmes series, starring Jeremy Brett. The Devil's Foot is one of the best episodes, featuring a ruthless villain, an exotic weapon, one scary "trip", Holmes's sometimes reckless pursuit of the truth, and Dr. Watson's deep friendship.

Devil's Foot is the most perfect of the Jeremy Brett productions. Holmes is resting, has buried his cocaine needle in the sand, but soon investigates the death of a woman sitting at a table with her two brothers who go insane and are are carted off to the nut house. Holmes chooses to let the killer go free. This one is truly exciting and riveting and Jeremy plays it like a humble yet flawless virtuoso.

I love Sherlock Holmes stories and find Jeremy Brett was the Best, even better than Basil Rathbone. It's a great series.
