Riverdance / Les Miserables: Live from NYC
Columbia/Tristar presents this two-pack set, Riverdance & Miserables: Live NYC. Riverdance, the acclaimed Irish music and dance spectacular, comes to the Big Apple in this live video recorded at New York City's Radio City Music Hall. The New York performance features several new pieces never before available on video, including "American Wake" and "Harbour of the New World." This production stars Jeanne Butler, Colin Dunne, and Maria Pages, along with a cast of 70 dancers and musicians. Recorded live at London's Royal Albert Hall in 1995, the tenth anniversary performance of Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil's Les Miserables in Concert: The Dream Cast features a one-night-only "dream cast" of Les Mis veterans. Colm Wilkinson reprises his original role as Jean Valjean, the hero imprisoned 17 years for stealing a loaf of bread; Philip Quast is his relentless pursuer Javert. Other stars include Ruthie Henshall as Fantine, Judy Kuhn as Cosette, Michael Maguire as Enjolras, Alun Armstrong as Thenardier, and the inimitable Michael Ball returning to the role of Marius.
