I saw the movie for the first time in 2003, but the music and language took me back to the 70s. Reggae music is very popular in the Caribbean, not just Jamaica. The most impressive thing is the amount of reggae stars that have roles... and the soundtrack is filled with what Caribbean people call ''big tunes'' - meaning that they were hits at some time or another. The language is so authentic that they had to use subtitles! Wow! All of the characters are real and believeable, even though the story line is a bit of a fable. A good effort that still commands respect 25 years on!

so nice to see true born jamaicans representing the history of the land and culture. the music is theraputic as is the scenes of the country itself. makes me homesick for the beautiful life of jamaica. see it-and learn! one love

Big Love-----One Love. Don't miss this reggae fable! The roots movie of the century. What could be better than a trip Jamaica-1977 ??? A trip to the moon? Maybe. But I doubt it!!!

When I first watched this film I found it to be a unique movie that is really enjoyable. It is filled with allot of Jamaican roots music It has a Rastafarian glossary, english subtitle and great proformances by some of Jamaica's favorite artists including the late very talented Jacob Miller who passed on in 1980. I feel this movie is a must see for those who love reggae music.
