Sleepaway Camp

A deadly boating accident derails the life of a sensitive youngster, leading to confusion, madness and murder. Years after the incident, Angela (Felissa Rose) is still withdrawn and rarely speaks, living a sheltered life with her aunt and cousin Ricky (Jonathan Tiersten). The two young teens are sent off to Camp Arawak to spend the summer, and though Ricky attends every year and has plenty of friends, Angela is unable to fit in and finds herself the target of cruel taunts from her bunkmates. Her cousin is always ready to stick up for her, and she begins a timid romance with Ricky's best friend Paul (Christopher Collet), but it isn't enough to stop the abuse from their fellow campers. Soon a series of fatal accidents is plaguing Camp Arawak; a pedophilic cook is scalded alive, a practical joker drowns mysteriously and the boys' restroom becomes the scene of a horrific bee swarm attack. The campers are fleeing in droves, and the few who remain begin suspecting foul play. But who is the killer? The camp's owner (Mike Kellin) believes that the killings are only meant to ruin his business, and he's convinced that the hot-tempered Ricky is to blame. When the evening of the camp social arrives, it proves to be the bloodiest night of all, and a terrible secret is revealed in a bizarre confrontation on the beach. This offbeat slasher mystery (also known as Nightmare Vacation) has earned a sizable cult following for its twisted sensibilities and inspired a pair of direct-to-video sequels.

great horror films are great when they can take something that is done to death: in this case slasher movie and create something different and memorable. In this case the director, has taken the hokiest horror movie cliche, mad killer at the summer camp and created a horror classic! Ricky and his very quiet cousin Angela decide to go to summer Camp and soon regret it as the kids there are targeted by a brutal killer! The director,Robert Hiltzik has created a low-budget nasty little shocker that explores the themes of homosexuality child abuse and abnormal behavior. Now stir in some gruesome murders, and last but not least unforgettable ending and you recipe for horror classic guarantee to chill the blood! The ending alone is worth price of admission because spotting the killer isn't that hard but the killer's secret(Oh boy what a secret is it)is what makes the film so memorable. This film also is quite controversial because most of the victims are preteens and the methods of their demise isn't for the squemish.

This movie is my favorite scary movie! I recommend it to any scary movie fan! It might not be as popular as ''Halloween'', ''Friday the 13th'', or ''A Nightmare On Elm Street,'' but it's still a terrific movie regardless. It's not a typical scary movie either. Sleepaway Camp is realistic. What happens during this movie could possibly happen in reality. The ending of this movie will seriously freak you out! I know it scared the heck out of me!

When I first saw this movie, it gave me nightmares for weeks. The ending is what shocked me the most. It gave me more nightmares than Friday the 13th, Halloween, and Nightmare on Elm Street combined.

first off the ending WTF, totally never seen like that before...ever. that's a compliment by the way. i can't remember we're i heard of this, i think it was from a robot chicken episode or something. anyway this is the story of cousins, a camp and to be honest creative killings for the most stupidest victims ever, the ending i bet caught everyone off guard and that's what makes it unique. check this out for yourself. what i liked about this was the little use of nudity and didn't actually show it but it was more about how the killings were set and etc and i have to say that maybe that's how it should be than what we have now then that way it would be more suspenseful that way. hope that makes sense.

It movie was so bizarre and extremely random. The death scenes were horrible, the plot was bad, the acting was REALLY bad, and the end...WHAT? It was the most random ending EVER! Horrible, horrible movie. Did not even give me chills. I was really disappointed.
