Godzilla now has someone to help him battle the giant monsters that attack Japan every year. The two monsters battle giant mantises and a huge tarantula, mutated by radiation. This movie was followed by "Godzilla's Revenge", which again has Godzilla's son, who has learned to talk. Minya was also in "Destroy All Monsters".

You know it's going to be an island adventure when the upbeat music of Masaru Sato starts up! The combination of the jazzy music, the bright colors, and the exciting, comic-book-like script make for a truly enjoyable movie experience. Join a crew of scientists conducting experiments on the weather. Watch the memorable performances of Goro, the cute but thick-headed reporter, and Furukawa, the scientist driven to madness by the heat and solitude of the island. Thrill at the appearance of giant mantises and Kumonga, the giant spider. In my opinion, the physical appearance of Godzilla's (real or adopted?) son leaves something to be desired; but the touching final scene between the two giant reptiles is one of the most poignant and visually appealing moments in all of the Big G's history.
