Aynone who complains about too much attention being payed to a guitar player's hands is obviously not interested in musicianship. I can't count the number of times I've been driven to distraction by footage of everything that was happening in a video or film except what the musicians were doing. Strunz & Farah are SERIOUS musicians; and it's to their credit that they are generous enough to show all interested persons the precise details of their extraordinary techhniques -- with no sacrifice whatever in the quality of their performance. Not to mention, they used a 3-camera setup and there's never even a shadow of one of them setting up his/her next shot. The only real difference with the pieces that were performed before an audience is that there were cut-aways to show that the audience was having a good time. If seeing the close-ups of nearly superhuman acoustic guitar chops takes away from enjoyment of the music, wear a blind fold; and you'll never be able to tell there's no audience until you hear the applause.

Their music is great, I enjoy it very much and moves my sense of appreciation for New age Guitar Music. However, this DVD is done very poorly, I could have done one better with a camcorder. No Post production at all. No extra effect. it makes u think what were they hoping for?

Having been Strunz and Farah fans for many years, we were quite happy anticipating the release of their new DVD. However, after purchasing it and watching it, we were very disappointed. We found the footage extremely boring--most of the time the camera focused solely on hands strumming the guitar, the performance was very ''cut and dry,'' and it lacked the energy that a live concert audience lends to the performer. I understand that they wanted to convey a pure acoustic sound, but instead, they conveyed a compilation of songs that seemed very repetitive and with little emotion. Even the dancer that was hired for the filming of the video was eclipsed by the constant showing of strumming hands, rather than the graceful manner in which she danced. Basically, she is seen only in the shadows of the poorly lit stage and for a few seconds here and there. Even the small clips of interviews of both performers were emotionless, apparently very rehearsed and very dry. We certainly missed the charisma and diversity of the music we have so many times enjoyed in their concerts, and the combined musical elements that their band utilizes. We only sensed the vitality of their performance during the two songs in the DVD that were recorded in front of live audiences. There they used more percussion, more emotion and the combined talents of their multinational musicians. This is certainly, in our humble opinion, not a ''must buy'' for those of us who've enjoyed Strunz and Farah for many years. I would have rather spent the money on a musical CD than on this very disappointing performance.
