It isn't the "crime" that is abominable so much as the law forbidding it. Jamaica is still clinging to a reprehensible anti-sodomy law instituted by British colonizers. The consequences of this deeply ingrained cultural and institutional homophobia are depicted with great clarity in this unflinching film.
