The screenwriter created a movie that all ages can enjoy. It is hard to find the quality and originality that this work has in today's films. It took a genius to think of the professor inventing flubber. What a surprise! It introduced the concept of an evil-minded villain without shooting and killing. The Model "T" jalopy was also hard to beat as an antique that he redesigned so it could fly. I'm thinking of throwing an Absent-Minded Professor party, including a brunch. It's totally unique.

Disney has made many great films, but I think it is remarkable how older films most often are the ones the public goes back to. Sure, there are plenty of good remakes and sequals, but it is the original that stands out in people's minds. Such was the case with ''The Absent-Minded Professor.'' There was a remake, but not as good. In ''The Absent-Minded Professor,'' Professor Brainard invents an anti-gravity substance, which he named ''flubber.'' He hopes that since he missed his own wedding to create the stuff, he can win back the girl when she sees what fantastic things flubber can do.
