Jim Sheridan's follow-up to his acclaimed My Left Foot, the Oscar-nominated The Field comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Stereo. There are no subtitles, but the soundtrack is closed-captioned. Supplemental materials include cast and crew information and a theatrical trailer. This is a solid disc from Artisan that is certainly worthwhile when one considers the affordable list price.
