Fox's DVD of The Final Conflict presents a solid package for the theatrical finale to the Omen series. The anamorphically enhanced widescreen image captures the film's lush cinematography much better than previous video and laserdisc editions and a new Dolby Surround stereo remix gives the film's soundtrack a newly vibrant sheen, especially in its treatment of Jerry Goldsmith's gothic operatic musical score. Extras include theatrical trailers for each of the Omen films (as well as several other Fox fantasy titles) and a full-length commentary from director Graham Baker. The commentary suffers from the occasional dull patch, but Baker provides a few interesting tidbits about the attempts to push leading man Sam Neill to stardom and what inspired the film's understated finale. The package is rounded by some stylish animated menus that utilize footage from the film and Goldsmith's music in a memorable manner. All in all, Fox's DVD edition of The Final Conflict is a quality presentation of this film that is well worth the time for Omen fans.
