The Human Centipede

Two American college girls become the subjects of a sadistic medical experiment while on a road trip across Europe. Invited to a party by a handsome waiter, Jenny and Lindsay are en route to the festivities when their car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. Desperate, they decide to seek help on foot, eventually coming across the home of a retired surgeon named Dr. Heiter (Dieter Laser). Dr. Heiter is internationally renowned for his work on separating conjoined twins, but these days he's using his surgical skills for something entirely different. His goal is to create a human centipede by removing his patient's kneecaps, and sewing them together, mouth-to-anus. The only thing preventing Dr. Heiter from carrying out his experiment is a lack of human subjects. When Jenny and Lindsay arrive on his doorstep, Dr. Heiter enthusiastically begins prepping for surgery. The first installment of a two-film story arc, The Human Centipede was quickly followed by The Human Centipede II: Full Sequence.

Bad acting, even Dieter Laser, an excellent actor, acts in over the top hysterical way.The movie is kind of amateurish, by a director of previous flops. Here he found a nugget of gold, adding scat to unoriginal horror cliches. People sewn mouth to anus forced to eat other s...? A fantasy the director better left fro himself, but in some narcistic impulse he found it so great he needed to tell all the world. The movie is pointless, there is of course obligatory in horror movies denigration of women, here in addition to being mutiliated, and death is the end here, no happy end per se like in other horror flicks.Man is the head of the centipede, not forced to eat waste but two women are.Oh, cruel misogyny of the horror genre, here we have additional "feed her!" yelled by Dieter Laser as the Nazi doctor. Tom Six maybe desensitized to such things, as he spelled it out in one of his interviews, but this is his own cup of...ehm... tea. I am disgusted and proud of it!This movie is for sure not for everyone.Maybe a good taste is not such a bad thing after all.

Never has a movie disgusted it's viewers so much, while showing very little. The premise is just as stated. The performances from the girls are amatuerish. What puts this movie on the map is Deiter Lazers outstanding, menacing job. Think a more deranged Hannibal Lechter. Lazer should be holding an Oscar for this. This movie will have you squirming in your sofa (again, it is all implied disgust. Nothing is really shown), but you will be telling your co-workers about it for the next week. Highly recommended. "Feed her....FEED HEEERR"

This is one of those movies that is not jump out of your seat scary, but will have you crawling out of your skin. The acting is good (not much to make it great due to the nature of the film) but the content of the film is not just amazing but mindbending. The person who thought up this moving has a mind I would love to pick apart. Watch it.
