The Killing of Sister George has gotten a solid no-frills treatment on DVD with this disc from MGM. It benefits from a strong video transfer that offers a letterboxed, anamorphic image with strong levels of color and detail. The audio portion of the disc sticks with the original mono soundtrack, presented in Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono, and sounds fine. It's also worth noting that this disc offers English subtitles unlike the prior Anchor Bay Entertainment edition of this title. Unfortunately, there are no extras on this disc -- not even a trailer. The lack of a trailer is particularly disappointing, because it would have been interesting to see how they tried to sell this challenging, controversial story to the conventional moviegoers of that era. That said, MGM has made this quality presentation available at a decent price, making The Killing of Sister George a worthwhile buy for fans of the film.
