In the aftermath of a deadly attack on American forces in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, diplomats are slow to act, but meanwhile, FBI special agent Ronald Fleury (Jamie Foxx) assembles a secret team of U.S. counter-terrorism investigators to enter the city and find the criminal behind what has quickly become an international incident. The crew, however, finds their attempt to capture the perpetrators stalled by bureaucracy and their presence unwelcome. Desperate to gain the trust they need to accomplish their mission in just five days, the team enlists the aid of a Saudi Arabian police officer (Ashraf Barhoum), but as the agents infiltrate the dark and complex world of the Saudi crime scene, they find that the perpetrator's next target may be them. Directed by Peter Berg, The Kingdom also stars Jennifer Garner, Chris Cooper, and Jason Bateman.

I would not recommend this film. It is too small on detail and too long on preaching. That is all.

I was pleasantly surprised by this film, but the script could have been much better. The ending was weak as far as in the dialogue of the last scene goes, and I feel that this could have been a film to promote foreign cooperation, but was an ultimate disappointment in that regard. Still a very enjoyable movie and worthy as an addition to anyone's DVD library.

Jamie Foxx is great in this movie. The feel of this movie is engrossing. You can feel the dangers of being in the Middle East. Many movies based in war-torn countries have very obvious and cutting political agenda. This movie may also have one, but it was muted nearly entirely. This movie can be enjoyed by mostly anyone.

I was surprised to find a film that so accurately depicts the Saudi attitudes towards both interior terrorism and American presence in Saudi Arabia. This is a &quot must see&quot if you really want to know what the delicate Saudi-American working relationship is. No, just because we fund a lot of activities does not enable us to tell them what to do!
