Although the special effects are a little cheeky, the movie possess a good storyline. Those who know Michael Shanks from playing archaeologist Dr. Daniel Jackson on Stargate SG-1, will be pleased to see him step back into the reigns as an archaeologist for this movie. It may seem a little dull, but believe me it is better once you get started. There are some little snags in the story. If you know anything about Mayan history, you will find similarities, but some differences. When watching, keep an open mind and see past the special effects and arguable history, and you find a charm of a movie.
