Combining the talents of Matthew Broderick (Mel Brooks' The Producers, Ferris Bueller's Day Off) and Kristin Chenoweth (Wicked, You're A Goood Man Charlie Brown), what do you get? Wow! This is the story of Harolod Hill(Broderick) that comes to Salt Lake City to start a band. One of the young ones in the band is Winthrop (Monaghan)who lives with his sister Marian (Chenoweth). This delightful musical has classic numbers like '76 Trombones' and ''Till There Was You'. A delight! Mayor Hinns is played by Victor Garber.

The incredable musical, The Music Man is brought back to life, by the same people who brought you Chicago. The story takes place in River City, Iowa where Proff. Harold Hill (Mathew Brodrick, Inspector Gadget) comes to start a band, but gets his foot stuck in the door by falling in love with the town librarian, Marian Paroo(Kristen Chenoweth, You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown). This is one of the most wonderful movies I have seen in my life! It is amazing! Mathew and Kristen did an outstanding preformance. (They both have exelent voices)!!

The music is catchy and beautiful. Great story and cast. 5,000 stars!

Kristin Chenowith is charming. The changes in the orchestrations and settings and tone work fine, too. What's missing? Magic. It all seems rather bland...As talented as I think Matthew Broderick is, I found him to be miscast...and some of the talented supporting cast , especially Molly Shannon, seemed wasted. All in all, a pale copy of the original.

I am a major music lover, and believe me, I LOVE Matthew Broderick in The Music Man. It is better than the original adatptation on film, and quite worth your while. The lyrics are easier to understand because they are spoken and sung at a slower pace and the dancing is amazing! There is a ton of stuff going on in each scene so you never get bored watching it over and over again! I fell in love with it at the opening song! If you haven't already, you "ought to give Iowa a try"!
