This movie isn't even closely related to Biblical events.

I've watched this movie many times over the years; it has a good combination of family drama and mystery with an otherworldly component and great atmospheric scenes. If you're looking for gore and loud heavy metal this is not for you. Just the same type of good old fashioned suspense that you see in movies like The Omen or The Changeling (the 80s one with George C Scott).

Again, Demi Moore nails it in this one.
