Barnes & Noble - Christina Urban
It may seem unbelievable for a long-running comedy to consistently remain on top of its game, but The Simpsons showed no signs of slowing down, even after entering its seventh season in 1995-96. Creator Matt Groening and his stellar production staff never disappoint, as fans find themselves hard-pressed to choose the best, quote-worthy moments in yet another year of classic episodes. Season 7 opens with the resolution of the cliffhanger from Season 6 in "Who Shot Mr. Burns? Part 2," and it only gets better from there. "Radioactive Man" features Rainier Wolfcastle in a new movie as the titular comic-book hero, along with a recalcitrant Milhouse as his sidekick, Fallout Boy. In "Home Sweet Home Dum-Diddly-Doodly," Bart accidentally contracts lice, Lisa loses her shoes, and the Simpson kids are forced to go to a foster home -- next door at the Flanderses. Homer gets computer-animated in the annual Halloween treat "Treehouse of Horror VI." "Bart Sells His Soul" (for five dollars) is one of the most touching, heartfelt Simpsons episodes of any season. "Marge Be Not Proud" is a sweet, Christmas-themed episode in which Bart experiences the worst punishment of his life, his mother's "disappointment," after he shoplifts a video game. "The Simpsons' 138th Show Spectacular" is notable for clips of the early Simpsons shorts that aired on The Tracey Ullman Show. Troy McClure attempts to revive his career by marrying Marge's sister in "A Fish Called Selma." "Bart on the Road" finds Lisa and Homer uncharacteristically united to help Bart get home from a disastrous joyriding trip. And in the highlight of the season, "King-Size Homer," Homer gains 61 pounds in order to go on disability, despite Marge's protests, and claims he's "drought and famine resistant." Keep an ear out for guest stars Glenn Close, Donald Sutherland, Kirk Douglas, and Paul and Linda McCartney, and feast your eyes on the usual commentaries, deleted scenes, and other wonderful bonus features.

This is it. Along with season 6, this is the greatest entertainment from one of the greatest shows ever. This season is where the Simpsons set the bar in excellence, topping out with the funniest episode ever, in which Lisa becomes a vegetarian. You'll be hard pressed to find a funnier half hour of television. Seasons 3-7 are a must own for all fans of the show. Maybe they set the bar too high... Since season seven they've had their moments, but it hasn't been nearly as funny and entertaining as it was during this magical year.

This is, in my opinion, the best Simpsons DVD out there. The majority of the episodes are hilarious, but nothing compares to the "Two Bad Neighbors"! Ex president, George Bush moves across the street from the Simpsons. Before long, Homer & George become enemies. The laughs never stop! I highly recommend this DVD as the all time best of the Simpsons DVD series.

I have all the seasons of The Simpsons, they are great!!! I watch them over and over with my boyfriend. This cartoon is the founding father of South Park and Family Guy. I remember watching The Simpsons as a little girl, and know I can show my "future" children what I used enjoy as a kid...and as an adult. A great collection to have!!
