WONDERFUL!!! If you're a fan of the String Cheese Incident, or are looking to introduce someone to the band, their music, and the scene/community that surrounds the band, this is THE DVD to get!!! This documentary is rare in the music film genre, in that it's a TRUE documentary, where we get a rare inside look at life on the road with a band, providing us with a genuine insight into who these musicians are, and what motivates them -- both as musicians and as people. Warren Miller Films -- known mainly for their annual ski/snowboard film -- did a fantastic job of conveying the spirit and flavor of the SCI scene, which grew from humble beginnings as ski bums in the mountain towns of Colorado. As such, we get to ride the lifts and make turns with the band (complete with some classic Warren Miller ski footage) as they revisit their roots, and discuss how their passion for the outdoors influences and inspires their music. More than anything, it's the behind-the-scenes moments that make this film so special: from rehearsal to sound check to the green room and onto the tour bus, we are given a rare glimpse into the lives and minds of a band on the rise ... by the end of the film, we feel like we really know the 5 members of SCI, and are rooting for their continued success. The DVD features 30 minutes of MULTI-ANGLE bonus concert footage, which is FANTASTIC -- I had a blast playing director & controlling the camera angles. If you're a SCI fan, a music lover, an outdoor enthusiast, or a combination of all 3, you will LOVE THIS DVD!!!
