Overview

Criterion Collection: War Room

D.A. Pennebaker and Chris Hegedus were given access to James Carville and George Stephanopolous as they masterminded Bill Clinton's successful 1992 campaign for the presidency. The resulting documentary, The War Room, is presented on this DVD with a standard full-frame transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.33:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Stereo. English and French subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a five-minute introduction recorded by the co-directors. This is a solid release of a fascinating film that will be appealing to anyone with an interest in presidential politics.

Clinton. The man. The legend. The blowjob. This is all before the controservies, well, not totally, as it follows the "crazy Cajun" James Carville and the young-looking idealistic Georg e Stephenapholous as they fight like bulldogs in the 1992 Election. Behind the scenes with some shots of Bill and Hillary. Great and historic. Too bad we didn't have that team working in 2004, but we got 'em back in 2006.
