This show is so underrated but it is amazing. It is a great cop drama. It may be hard to get into without seeing it from season 1 because there is a lot of character development going on. But give it a chance and you should love it

I began watching the Wire in HBO in season 2, the story writing was real and riviting. The actors were incredibly believable. The storyline kept you coming back. The Barnes and Noble deal was too good to pass up. 50% off and buy two get one free, and I needed seasons 3, 4, and 5. awesome

Season Three of the wire, is essential fro the overall story, but definately the weakest out of the five phenominal seasons. We get a good ending for the Barksdale crew and a new beginning with that of Marlo Stanfield and his new school way of dealing with problems. Everyone else gets great stand out moments, from Omar ending another major character's life to bubles out there trying to make a better life for himself. Overall good season that should not be missed of what has to be &quot The Best Show Ever&quot

Started watching reruns of season 3 on HBO recently. Once you watch 2-3 episodes, you're hooked. It's not the easiest show to dive into but if you make the initial investment in time, you'll grow to appreciate the complexity of the characters and the political minefields they have to navigate

I just finished season three of the greatest television show ever and I had to start a review on it. Looking at many customer reviews on this season, I always get disappointed when people say that one season is better than the other. The Wire is the show where "all the pieces matter," since each season has a different focus, all seasons are needed in order to portray the American city like the Wire does. However, I am sure reviewers are talking about entertainment value. I do, however, find the first three seasons to all be equally entertaining. This season moves on to politics of Baltimore. Not only does the viewer see how City Hall operates, but the bureaucracy of the police department and how their actions affect the cops we have all learned about in the first two seasons. This season is also great because it serves as an allegory for the war on Iraq. To finish off my review, I would like to talk about the excellent characters and acting in The Wire. I will not talk about my favorite characters from the prior seasons (you can read my review of the first season for those), my favorite new characters are Cutty, a man out of prison seeking to reform from his old ways, "Bunny" Colvin, the major for the Western Sector who tries to lower felony rate but legalizing drugs, and Tommy Carcetti, the councilmen who wants to be mayor. As for acting, Michael K. Williams give a high-caliber performance as Omar (no pun intended) and Idris Elba's performance as Stringer Bell is reminiscent of Al Pacino in The Godfather II. I would talk more about the other great performances and the writing, but if you have already seen the first two seasons, then you know how good both are.
