I showed this film to my 7th graders after they had read the novel Tom Sawyer. This is over-simplified and over- Hollywood-ized, with too many liberties taken with the plot and character. This is not the Becky Thatcher from Twain's imagination. Nor do Tom or Huck fit their literary counterparts. It's basically a dumbed-down version of the novel that doesn't give enough credit to the intelligence of kids today who can and do get the satire and deeper meanings of Twain's work.

This was the most awesome video I have ever seen. All the actors (and actresses) are perfect for their characters. I guarantee that you'll love this movie!!!

I loved ''The Adventures of Tom Sawyer''. This movie brought everything to life so perfectly. Johnathan Taylor Thomas and Brad Renfro are the perfect boys to bring to life every kid's heros.

No matter how young or old you are you will love this movie. It is a movie based on the book The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (Huck) writen by Mark twain. This movie shows that no matter what boys will be boys.
