DVD (Wide Screen)

Overview

Beginning in 1900 with a cameraman who is photographing World War I, the loves of three generations of Parisians are shown in this sentimental French film. The cameraman's son suffers and survives internment in a concentration camp in World War II, while his daughter marries a man who begins adulthood as an ex-convict and a scoundrel, but gradually matures and becomes a well-respected filmmaker living in New York. Each section is filmed in accordance with the movie making techniques current for its time.
