Collegiate athlete Jennifer Harris takes on iconic Penn State women's basketball coach Rene Portland, whose strict "no lesbians" policy has led to promising athletes - including Harris - being intimidated, stripped of their scholarships, ejected from the team due to suspicions of homosexuality. For over 25 years, Portland wielded her status as one of the most respected women's basketball coaches in the country to promote a homophobic agenda that destroyed the dreams of countless female athletes. Then, in 2006, it all fell apart. Shortly after being kicked off the team due to suspicions of homosexuality, student athlete Harris sued the university and the coach for discrimination. The National Center for Lesbian Rights in her corner of the courtroom, Harris inspired other athletes who had been discriminated against by Portland to come forward and tell their stories as well.
