First off, The Wire (also created by the genius David Simon) is the greatest show of all time. Second off, Treme is not the Wire. Not that Treme doesn't have the potential, but I have only seen one season; but what a season it's been. Firstly, the music in this show is the best music in a TV show. It truly shows the culture and greatness of New Orleans and the viewer can't help not wanting to dance to the music. Before watching the show, having never been to NO, I really didn;t know the music there and I always hated jazz, I always thought it was just mall music. However, because of this great show, NO music is incredible. I got turned onto a lot of new music because of this show. Secondly, the characters and overall writing in the show is fantastic. Unlike the Wire, Treme cares more about character than plot. After only a few episodes, I really grew to know these characters. I have no favorites, there all good in their own ways, along with the actors and actresses that play them (but I must say that Khandi Alexander was robbed of an Emmy). Watch Treme, if you have ears and/or eyes you will love this show so watch it, you won't regret it.
